The Georgia Professional Standards Commission has adopted the new Montessori teaching certificate we helped them design. Creating a Montessori teaching certificate was our most ambitious policy goal so far. This accomplishment provides a crucial step to making Montessori accessible to children across the state. The new certificate is open to anyone who holds a Montessori credential from a program accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), passes the appropriate subject-area tests, and meets Georgia’s additional special requirements.
